Zimbabwean Teak is an attractive even- textured hardwood, which is extremely durable. It has a wonderful dark, red-brown colour and is fine-grained. It is extremely dense, and thus the furniture is both durable and solid by nature. The timber was originally used in the early 1900s for railway sleepers. Zimbabwe teak is found growing in Kalahari sand areas where it is extensively protected by large areas of National Park and Forestry Reserve within Zimbabwe.
